Join us for two fantastic weeks away this
August.
It's the biggest event in the cadet calendar and
you definitely don't want to miss out! Scroll down for more info.
What's Annual Camp all about?
It's like an epic Company Weekend, just with the whole Battalion and for two weeks. There's a huge range of activities and you're always busy. You also make some fantastic friends, because of
the experiences you share.
Check out what we did in previous years:
Ripon 2011 | Penally 2010 | Strensall 2009
On the last evening of Annual Camp 2010, some
cadets sat down to talk about what they'd been up to...
The previous year, some cadets went up in a military helicopter.
They also tackled an obstacle course.
What's on the programme?
Every year our officers draw on their experience from running previous camps to
design an exciting programme tailored to the needs of our cadets and features of
the training area.
They're still deciding on the exact selection of events for 2012, but you can expect
a mix of military and outward bound activities. We always spend quite a lot of
time in the field and on the range, and sometimes also take part in adventurous activities
like kayaking and archery.
Isn't two weeks a long time to
spend away from home?
Most cadets return to camp year after year because they absolutely love it. You'll make lots of new friends in the first few days and when it's over you'll be wishing you could stay
longer.
No doubt it will be a challenge, but over a hundred of our younger cadets have already proved to themselves on Junior Camp that they have everything it takes to get stuck into Camp life and really enjoy themselves. Annual Camp is a bit longer and a bit further away, but that only means it will be even more exciting.
If for any reason you can't make the full two weeks, you can always come along for just one week. This costs £35,
and you need to provide your own transport to/from camp in the middle.
Senior cadets - worried about A level results? A minibus will take you back to
Oxford for the day.
Don't wait until the last
minute to submit your forms!
The first cadets handed in their paperwork back in 2011, so it's never too early. It would be a real shame
to miss out.
As a final note, it is our policy that cost should never be a barrier to
a cadet coming on Annual Camp. Please bring your parents/carers in to see your
Detachment Commander if you have any queries.
