The Maltese Tourist Board for the seventh
year has requested that Cadet Force Music (CFM) provide a marching band to
perform at the televised Malta Military Tattoo. This year the Army Cadet Force
(ACF) Bands & Bugles of The Rifles have been asked to represent the ACF. This is
a once in a lifetime opportunity and an invaluable experience for our Cadets to
represent their different counties. They will meet musicians from all over
Europe, with a final Marching Display outside the Maltese Presidential Palace.
The Cadets will be performing with Regular Army Bands, Territorial Army (TA)
Bands from Britain plus military bands and entertainers from many different
countries. For many cadets this could be the first and only opportunity they
will have to travel outside the UK. Although this is the ACF Band and Bugles, we
will still be seen as representing The Rifles in the eyes of the public.
We will be taking 65 cadets and adults from the counties of Durham, Wiltshire,
Shropshire, and Oxfordshire on this once in a life time experience. Each cadet
must be three or four star bugle or music standard, or above.
