A Night at the Museum

Michael McAndrews, 18 June 2009

Cadet musicians can sometimes be asked to perform in rather unusual venues or situations, none more so than the 13 cadets from the Corunna Bugles and Drums band of Oxfordshire (The Rifles) Battalion ACF. Their audience for the Christmas celebrations at the Oxford Museum of Natural History consisted of staff and visitors and a full size T Rex and Iguanodon!

Rehearsals were ‘interesting’ using a practice area the same size as the venue, marching round plastic chairs and other objects marking the areas taken up by dinosaurs. On the night, the performance was a great success with everyone there, predictably, the dinosaurs had no comment!
