Cadet150 Service and Parade
Alan Hames,
12 July 2010
Just under 200 cadets and adults from the Army, Air, Sea and Combined Cadet Forces marched through Oxford to celebrate Cadet150 and Armed Forces Day on Sunday 27 June 2010. The parade was lead by a Massed Band of 36 cadets from the ACF, ATC and SCC and included a contingent of 43 cadets and adults from all four companies of Oxfordshire (The Rifles) Army Cadet Force.
The parade marched past the Lord Lieutenant of Oxfordshire, Mr Tim Stevenson OBE, who took the salute outside County Hall. It was proceeded by a Service at Christ Church Cathedral and was followed by food and drink at the OTC’s Falklands House for both those in the parade and guests, who included Brigadier Baverstock, Commander 145 Brigade.
Oxfordshire ACF managed the logistics of the whole event, from the Service to the refreshments, provided the majority of the adult marshals, arranged the food (thanks to the QM), with the planning and direction being undertaken by Major Hames, Project Officer Cadet150.
